Ao Yon Beach – Phuket, Thailand

Ao Yon beach or some people call Ao Yon bay according to its shape. It’s located on the way down south west direction. It takes only about less than 30 minutes drive from Phuket town.

Ao Yon has mixed visitors both local residents and tourists. There are a lot of new hotels, resorts and luxury villas going up in the recent years. Because Ao Yon is more like a residential area you will find it’s quite different from other beaches on the West side.

We love coming here to spend our days off in the hammocks. There are plenty of trees on the beach that we can get shadow comfortably. Cool breeze passing by all the time. It truly gives a genuine day of relaxation after long and hectic working week-days.

Best time of the day is in the late afternoon that you also can find some pool bars to spend the day in the pool, sipping some fancy cocktails. Until the day is coming to the end and the moon starts to show. We like these two places My Beach Resort

It’s nice to see Ao Yon is a place for everyone.

If it’s the right time of the year, usually any time not during the monsoon period, the bonus is to see some sail boats parking or cruising in the area. There are also some companies provide sailing boats for the day or overnight charter. If you are a sailor yourself, it definitely adds up your memory about this place when bringing the boat out to check out the surroundings. You can go to Lone Island, Racha Island then passing Promthep cape and Nai Harn beach. Seeing these places while out in the ocean is something different.
